Sempervivum Commonly referred to as "Hens and Chicks," Sempervivum Succulent Plants are hardy enough to survive the Winter frost and come back in the Spring. They are low-growing, spreading space-fillers. Most Sempervivum have stout shapes made up of compact, dense foliage structures with pointed leaf ends.
A microscopic, cotton-like covering grows over the crowns of the Cobweb Sempervivum, hence the name. New growth begins in small spherical shapes pushed out from the base of the plant, eventually blossoming into pointed leaf crowns covered in cobwebs. Cobweb Sempervivum will also grow flower stalks in the Summer, boasting many dark magenta-colored blooms with bizzare pollen structures in each center.
