The Lily-Like Aquatics 
This small group of tropical plants, The Lily-Like Aquatics, are wonderful as single specimens in tub gardens, or the most shallow parts of the pond in small masses.
For once, the common name very accurately describes this gem. With little leaves less than 1/2 inch in size arranged in a tight overlapping rosette about 2-4 inches across, the Mosaic Plant is an alluring special specimen. It will continue to send up additional rosettes from the main stem covering an area of at least 1 foot. Small yellow blooms are seen during warm parts of the Summer. Unfortunately, Koi find the Mosaic Plant to be a culinary delicacy, so protect it from your fish if possible!

The deep green, glossy oval leaves of Water Poppy, about 2-4 inches in size, spread across the pond elevating just slightly out of the water. Bight yellow flowers 2 inches in diameter are positioned just above the leaves and bloom frequently in sun and heat. In a large pot with plenty of fertilizer and 4 inches of water over the plant's base, Water Poppy will blossom and grow into the jewel of your pond!
