Petal color Purple. Sepal color, inner, deep violet blue, outer, green to bronze. Open cup. Size 5-7 in. Sweet fragrance.

Leaves:

Top dark chocolate brown with green blotches; underside, purple with green veins. Oval shaped leaf.

Notes:

Named after the founder of Florida Aquatic Nurseries, Dr. William McLane, this waterlily was the first to win the prestigious Banksian Award given by the IWWG Society in 1997. The flower is striking because of its large size, deep color, and numerous petals.
